Our Grandad

Created by David one month ago

Today we remember our grandad and all the things he meant to us and to share our memories on behalf of all his grandchildren. One of the biggest memories for us is that Grandad was an arsenal fan and the reason that each generation also support this team!
We have many memories of visiting Highbury and Grandad wearing his arsenal tie or wolly hat. We would often hear about his trials for Charlton!
We have many memories of Christmas and boxing day spent together at our own homes and at Pandora.  One of our main memories of grandad is how we would often be treated to a French lesson, especially after a couple of beers. There were many times I had no idea what he was saying, but I would just giggle or laugh and go along with it until he told me the meaning.
We are grateful to have spent so many years knowing our grandad and we hope he is now at peace and his legacy will of course live on through us all. Grandad also became a great Grandad during his lifetime.
Grandad was always very social and had a brilliant sense of humour. He enjoyed sharing a wise saying every time we saw him, even if it was in French! Be in peace now and rest assured whilst you are now looking down, we will continue to keep looking up to you. In your words ‘a bientot’ see you soon.

lots of love from Kate, Sam and Tom and all your grandchildren xx
